Last weekend Richard and I took a long weekend trip to California. We had such an amazing time. I thought I would share some of the highlights from our trip with you guys!
We landed in LAX and our first stop was Venice beach. We ended up strolling around the shops on the beach and just laying on a blanket in the sand for hours. It was so relaxing.
Our next stop was Redondo beach and we stayed at the cutest hotel that was located right on the beach called the Portifino Hotel. My knee was hurting a bit ( from too much running and a half marathon.. whoops) so we had a bottle of champagne on our balcony overlooking the ocean and talked to the seals. There were so many seals right outside our window. I guess some guest complain because they are so loud… but I loved them!
I took this photo in the lobby of the Portifino hotel. Aren’t these pillows adorable? Also the ocean as the backdrop doesn’t hurt. I also loved the bedding at this hotel. The entire hotel was dressed up in a nautical beach theme. It was very beach chic! I may call the hotel to ask where they got their bedding and also pillows and chairs from their lobby… I may just need them for my apartment.
Richard and I had such a fun time just exploring and laying around like seals on the beach. I swear.. being close by the beach or on the beach is so good for the mind, body and soul. We both felt so relaxed and at peace all weekend. One morning we were at brunch and I literally felt like I was in the clouds in a good way. I think the ocean is a natural happy pill. Anyone with me? ( Also being with Richard is like taking 10 happy pills as well.) Sorry for the corny bit there.
Oh, and here’s the picture of me at that brunch I was just talking about. You can tell I look pretty “zen!” Gotta love the California sunshine! It was so bright I had to wear my sunglasses indoors. I’m not a fan of people who do this.. like Kris Kardashian, but the sun was bright people!
Until next time, the beach and sunshine are living inside of me. I’m trying to keep this beach vibe in my heart as long as I can.
What about you guys? Have you been to Santa Monica/ Venice or Southern California? Which beach is your favorite?
XOXO,
Scarlett
Looks like so much fun. Next time pack me in your suitcase!
