Morning Workout Motivation

Okay, I know I know.. morning and workout shouldn’t go in the same sentence, right? I’ve never been a morning person my entire life but I started forcing myself to get out of bed in the morning and getting a run or Tone it Up video in and the payoff has been amazing.

Since I have started working out in the morning I have found some tips and tricks that help me get my booty out of bed and wanted to share them with you! I hope they help you as well!

1.) Lay your workout clothes out the night before: I put my workout clothes on my bedside table the night before my morning workout so in the morning I can just put them on and go. If this sounds like too much work just sleep in your workout clothes!

2.) Keep water next to your bed- I always keep a glass of water on my side table every night and when I wake up in the morning I drink a few big gulps of water to get myself energized. ( add some lemon for an extra zing!)

3.) Eat 2 Breakfasts- I usually eat something super small before my workout like a boiled egg and drink my water and a half cup of coffee and save the real breakfast for after my workout. I find this has worked best for me and doesn’t give me a side cramp during workout or run.

4.) Set 2 Alarms- I usually hit snooze or ignore when my first alarm goes off so I make sure on my morning work out days I set 2 alarms. When the second one goes off I know I need to get my butt out of bed for real!

5.) Hang up a positive quote or picture to get you motivated: I love to write down positive and motivating quotes for myself to look at first thing in the morning. I also like to keep a positive book on my side table to look at right when I wake up. I currently have the Tone It Up book Fit Fierce and Fabulous on my bedside table and looking and Karena and Katrina first thing in the morning really makes me want to get my body moving!

I hope these tips help you get up and moving in the mornings! You wont regret it when you see the sunrise on your morning run and when you walk into the office super energized while everyone else is half asleep! You got this!
